Just 20 minutes by car, Coronet Peak is the closest ski resort to Queenstown

Spectacular roller coaster terrain makes Coronet Peak ski area one of New Zealand’s favourite ski resort destinations for all abilities, particularly beginner and intermediates. For the advanced skiers and riders there is some steeper terrain, off piste runs, and ample moguls if your knees are up for it.  For the learners, a dedicated novice area provides a confidence building environment with two surface conveyor lifts, beginner handle tow, double chairlift and its own snow making system.

Not to mention Coronet Peak’s close proximity to Queenstown (only 16kms) and its incredible views from the resort across Lake Wakatipu, Lake Hayes, and The Remarkables.  It’s worth a trip for the scenery alone!

Amazing DJs, outdoor fires, cold beer and hot pizza under the stars… means there is a lot to draw you back to the slopes when Coronet Peak lights up for night skiing 3 times a week.  Hot tip, bring your passport for the on mountain bars.

Coronet Peak Ski Resort:  open daily 9am – 4pm (subject to weather conditions)
First Tracks:  8am – 9am daily
Night Skiing:  4pm – 9pm Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights

As for dining on the mountain, there are four cafes at Coronet Peak, including a fully licensed bar, café and restaurant in the Coronet Peak Base Building. You can dine beside the fire at Heidi’s Hut, enjoy a hot sandwich from the Sub Station, or head to the top of the mountain for some European style food and mulled wine at the outdoor Ice Bar.

After a day on the slopes, treat yourself to Queenstown’s only dedicated Hot Pool Onsen located at the bottom of Coronet Peak Ski Field.
