A Winter Adventure in Vail: Skiing, Scenic Views and Unforgettable Experiences

From exploring the charming villages to carving through the slopes of Vail Mountain, every moment was packed with sights and experiences worth remembering.

Greeted by the crisp mountain air and breathtaking peaks all around, we were taken on a guided tour through the picturesque villages and luxurious hotels that make Vail so special. Walking through the cobblestone streets, it felt like stepping into a winter wonderland with European-inspired architecture everywhere you look.

After our village tour, it was onto lunch and organising our rentals – the efficiency of Vail’s rental system made gearing up for the slopes a breeze.

Checking into our stunning accommodation at Hotel Sebastian, nestled in the heart of Vail Village, was an experience. The hotel was a true masterpiece, seamlessly blending luxury and comfort. Its ambiance enveloped us in a sense of tranquillity, making us feel as though we had arrived in our own mountain sanctuary.

We were treated this evening to a unique experience at Kemo Sabe, a boutique hat store renowned for its handcrafted designs. Here, we had the opportunity to make our own custom hats, adding personal touches to each one including hot iron branding my initials into the leather – such a cool, memorable souvenir!

Day 2 was all about hitting the slopes. Vail Mountain is massive and well-thought-out, with terrain suitable for skiers and riders of all abilities. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, there’s a run for everyone. We were lucky to have an expert guide from Vail Mountain, whose knowledge of the area took us to some of the best spots on the mountain.

After an exciting morning on the slopes, we stopped for lunch at mid-mountain – complete with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Refueled and recharged, we spent the afternoon exploring more of the mountain and venturing into the nearby Vail villages, soaking in the après-ski culture and the cozy atmosphere.

Our day on the mountain concluded with a delightful treat: hot chocolate, complete with all the toppings, served on the outdoor patio of The Hythe. Sipping that warm, creamy goodness while surrounded by snow-covered trees was pure bliss.

For dinner, we were taken to the Colorado Snowsports Museum and Hall of Fame for an evening of history, culture, and fine dining. The museum offered a fascinating look at the history of skiing in Colorado, featuring exhibits that detailed the evolution of the sport and celebrated its pioneers. It was a perfect way to unwind and reflect on the rich heritage of this iconic destination.

Our time in here was nothing short of magical, Vail truly is a place where memories are made.
