Snowscene is an Australian family owned business

Originally founded by John and Joan Warbrick in 1984, Snowscene specialised in sending eager Queenslanders down to the Snowy Mountains on the famous ‘Snobus Ski Tours’.

Fast forward 25 years when Emily Warbrick the daughter of John and Joan took over the reins and expanded the travel business, sending Australians to New Zealand, Japan, and other northern hemisphere ski resorts.

In 2015 Emily’s husband Hayden Foy joined the business. Together they launched a retail arm to complement the existing travel business.

Hayden and Emily have a passion for travel, skiing, and snowboarding. They share a desire to give others the chance to experience what it is that fuels their fire.

They pride themselves on being 100% independent, family-owned and operated business that specialises in high quality ski and snowboarding clothing and accessories. They have built the Snowscene range with brands they know and trust.

Snowscene’s specialised travel agency prepares customised itineraries and travel journeys to ski resorts worldwide, and their sister brand, Sunscene will take you anywhere that the sun shines.

Over the years the business has grown and evolved, but Snowscene still offers the same honest, reliable advice based on personal experience and outstanding customer service as it did in 1984. Snowscene has now been organising snow holidays for over 35 years and our valued staff have visited over 100 resorts worldwide.

Favourite Ski Resort / Ski Town
My favourite ski resorts are all in Colorado, United States – Park City, Snowmass & Aspen. All unique in character and great skiing at all three.
My favourite ski town is Queenstown.

Snow Holiday Bucket List
We all need a holiday to look forward to… and my bucket list is to take my son to see Santa Claus village in Lapland, Norway. Followed up by a European ski resort experience at Club Med La Rosiere in France.

Favourite Après Ski Scene
‘Après ski’ is always my favourite time of day. The Limelight hotel Snowmass do a stellar job incorporating wine, music and a kids play area.

Recommended Experience
Heli skiing in Queenstown, dog sledding, snow mobile tours & drinking wine are all my favourite experiences no matter what ski resort I am in.

Favourite Ski Resort / Ski Town
Aspen, Colorado as it is a genuine ski town – ticks so many boxes with its history, great food bars and blue bird days.

Snow Holiday Bucket List
Telluride and Jackson Hole, USA

Favourite Après Ski Scene
This would have to be the Hotel Jerome, Aspen – not often you get to enjoy a whiskey in an establishment built in 1889.

Recommended Experience
Hiking the highland bowl (do your training) followed by Cloud 9 in Aspen just don’t forget your poncho and thick wallet.

Favourite Ski Resort / Ski Town
Fun fact – I have spent the last 4 years living near the Victoria Alpine Region only an hour away from Falls Creek, and an easy drive to both Mt Buller and Hotham.

Snow Holiday Bucket List
I am captivated by the frigid allure of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The desire to immerse myself in the wonders of Alberta grows, drawn by its reputation for hosting one of the lengthiest snow seasons in the entire country.

Favourite Après Ski Scene
Indulging in the enchantment of ice bars and bonfires, set against the backdrop of a crystal-clear star lit night sky.

Recommended Experience
I have a trip planned to Queenstown next year and I am most interested in trying the Skyline Gondola up to Bob’s Peak to enjoy the panoramic views of the Southern Alps across Lake Wakatipu and star gazing when night falls. Having lived and working in an Alpine region I can also highly recommend a scenic helicopter ride whatever region you are in, a beautiful way to see the alps.

This is almost impossible to answer but probably a tie between Whistler and Aspen. There is so much terrain to enjoy at each and both are easily accessible from your accommodation. Not to mention all the activities there is to do after the lifts close!

Snow holiday bucket list
Jackson Hole in the USA – a snowboarder’s dream! Or a Club Med experience for my honeymoon!

Favourite Apres Ski Scene
Ice Bars! I just love the cold and being colder with a cocktail in hand is the best way to enjoy your evening!

Recommended Experience
Heli-skiing/boarding is a must-do at least once in your life! Or the Whistler Zip Trek was the best way to take a day off the mountain without missing anything!

Favourite Ski Resort / Ski Town
My favourite ski resort would be Aspen, Colorado. So much on offer for everyone. Its great to have all 4 mountains to explore so close to each other.

Snow Holiday Bucket List
I would love to take the family to experience a Hokkaido ski holiday in northern Japan. The fabulous winter cuisine, the quality of powder snow, the amazing hospitality of the Japanese people, along with so many mountains to explore.  All the makings of the ideal family holiday and all so accessible from Australia.

Favourite Après Ski Scene
After a fun day exploring Aspen Mountain, I enjoy sitting back at the Ajax Tavern with friends enjoying an amazing cocktail and some of their famous truffle fries.

Recommended Experience
If you decide to take a day off skiing whilst in Queenstown, I recommend a Gondola ride up to the Skyline. The luge ride is a lot of fun, its best to book ahead for the buffet restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner each day with spectacular views over Queenstown. Gold panning in Arrowtown is also a lot of fun with the kids.

Favourite Ski Resort / Ski Town
My favourite would be Club Med Yabuli in northern China. With four kids in tow, it was such a luxury to be able to ski/snowboard all day, knowing that the kids were safe and happy with the Club Med GO’s. If they didn’t feel like being on the slopes, they were busy in the kids club, or scaling the rock climbing wall or swinging on the trapeze.

Sun Holiday Bucket List
It has always been the Maldives, so with Club Med Kani booked for 2024, my new Bucket List destination would be Club Med Seychelles.

Favourite Club Med Resort
My favourite would be Club Med Guilin in China. Set amongst the stunning limestone karst mountains, this resort has something for everyone. Trapeze inside and out, rock climbing inside and out, bicycles for exploring the resort and surrounds, foot golf, archery, swimming, tennis, basketball, cooking classes, tai chi, yoga…..the list goes on. And my kids would tell you it has one of the best buffets they’ve seen in any Club Med resort.

Recommended Experience
If you ever get the opportunity, visiting the North Pole is a must. We took our girls to meet Santa in Äkäslompolo, Finland, spending the most magical Christmas in a log cabin in the Finnish forest.

Favourite Ski Resort / Ski Town
Its soooo hard for me to choose, is it Banff/Lake Louise or is it Club Med Peisey Valandry in France, both are equally as beautiful, but I would have to lean more towards Peisey Valandry. I loved the little village below, the locals produce cheese in the summer and then work as ski instructors throughout the winter. The ski terrain is never ending, valley after valley it is magnificent, the surrounding mountains and scenery are spectacular. I think it helped that this was an experience shared with my family and friends.

Snow holiday bucket list
Definitely Aspen, I have experienced Steamboat Springs and loved Colorado, the skiing looks amazing in Aspen but its not just about the ski for me it’s the scenery and other activities that can be offered whilst not skiing as well.

Favourite Après Ski Scene
Definitely by far an outside fireplace whilst being surrounded by snow, there is nothing better than the crisp air and the roar of the fire with a red wine.

Recommended Experience
Helicopter drop in the Canadian Rockies followed by a wilderness walk to spot moose, it was amazing, something I will never forget.

Favourite Ski Resort / Ski Town
My favourite ski resort is Hakuba, Japan, so many mountains to choose from each day.  Favourite ski town is no doubt Queenstown, heaps of activities on offer and the views are amazing.

Snow Holiday Bucket List
A bucket list destination for me is one of the Club Med French ski resorts – Val Thorens, Val Morel or La Rosiere.

Favourite Après Ski Scene
What’s better than doing some great afternoon runs and skiing down to a bar for some pre dinner drinks by the fire while you plan out your night time escapades? Whistler, Canada is the pick for me for the best après ski scene. I have recently skied in Fernie & Panorama which was bliss!

Recommended Experience
If visiting the Nagano region of Japan, the Snow Monkeys are a must, and seeing an Ice Hockey game in Canada – memories that last forever.
