Treble Cone

South Island’s largest ski area

Located 1hr 30min from Queenstown, and about 40min drive from Wanaka, Treble Cone is the largest ski area in the South Island. Famous for its long, uncrowded groomed runs, off-piste terrain and unrivalled views over Lake Wanaka.

For beginner skiers and snowboarders, the learner area is located beside the base lodge and café, although we do recommend Cardrona over Treble Cone for beginners. Intermediates will love the 700m of vertical, (the longest in the Queenstown Southern Lakes District) which allows for some of NZ’s longest groomed trails. Advanced and expert riders will find a playground of natural half pipes and chutes that offer some of the steepest and most challenging terrain within the boundaries of a patrolled and protected ski area.
