Himecho@Yasushi

Himecho is a beautifully renovated traditional Japanese ryokan (unique machiya-style house) in the heart of Nozawa Onsen, ideal for families and private groups of up to 12 persons.

Located just a minute on foot to the Yu-Road (moving walkway) you will have easy access to the Hikage ski area. Himecho is also close to the mystical Ogama cooking onsen, a special place to see the local villagers steaming vegetables and eggs by traditional means. This area of Nozawa Onsen is also central to many fabulous bars and local restaurants, not to mention some of Nozawa’s most famous public onsens. The closest “soto-yu” or public baths are the iconic Oyu, Taki-no-yu and Asagama-no-yu. As a guest of Himecho@Yasushi, you are also welcome to try the private ”kashikiri” onsens at sister property Residence Yasushi.

The Himecho house has five comfortable tatami guest rooms typical of bedrooms in Japanese village homes. You’ll be sleeping traditional style with futons on tatami (however these ones are designed for the softer feel generally preferred by non-Japanese guests).

Snowscene highly recommends Himecho for the privacy of having your own abode right in the heart of Nozawa Onsen village. Experience a traditional Japanese home with the comfort of a daily housekeeper and concierge close by.
