Ryokan Sakaya is a traditional and premium Nozawa hotel offering an authentic immersion into Japan’s culture; beautiful Japanese gardens, exclusive hot springs onsens; and exceptional service from the hotel’s English speaking staff.
Centrally located in Nozawa Onsen Village, Ryokan Sakaya is a short steep walk up to the main Nagasaka Gondola, or just 250 metres to the Yu Road moving walkway up to the Hikage Ski Area. We recommend storing your ski gear up at the Hikage base, just ask the helpful hotel staff for assistance.
Sakaya’s accommodation includes a varied choice of Japanese style rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, and some with western beds instead of futons (although you need to book well in advance for these).
The hotel’s hot spring onsen is one of the best in the Nozawa and being a naturally heated, naturally mineralised and unfiltered source of relaxation, it’s not hard to see why. It’s exclusive for hotel guests and never seems to get crowded.
Sakaya’s inhouse Japanese restaurant is a treat not to be missed. We can make restaurant bookings for you in advance if you are travelling during peak ski season. In addition Ryokan Sakaya also has laundry facilities, ski drying rooms and a gift store for your added convenience.
