The Denman Hotel

The Denman Hotel is a warm and friendly boutique hotel located right in the heart of Thredbo Village with shops, cafes and bars all within easy walking distance. Situated on Diggings Terrace, the Denman Hotel is directly opposite the stairs that lead down into the Thredbo Village Square.  The chairlifts are only 5 minutes walk, or you can take the village shuttle bus which stops out front of the hotel.

With its warm atmosphere and fabulous service The Denman Hotel is a unique place to stay, play, relax and enjoy all that the beautiful Snowy Mountains has to offer.  Immerse yourself in alpine tradition; a day on the mountain, a drink in the bar, a delicious meal and the most comfortable nights sleep.

One of the first properties built in Thredbo, the building which now houses The Denman has been welcoming visitors since 1962. Take the time to rest and relax in the Denman’s Library, Après Bar, Terrace Restaurant or Edelweiss Day Spa, and soak up the ambience and old world charm of this lovely hotel.

Accommodation Details

The Denman Hotel has a varierty of rooms to suit your Thredbo accommodation needs ranging from rooms for the solo traveller and families through to King & Queen bedded rooms for couples. The building which now houses the Denman, has been welcoming visitors since 1962. In keeping with the legacy of an older style ski chalet the rooms are snug and welcoming, many with heritage features and some with stunning views of the mountain.

Balcony Room:  These rooms have small private balconies with excellent views of the mountain equipped with a table and chairs to soak up the sun & the fresh mountain air.  Choose 1 King Bed or 1 Queen Bed and en-suite.  Perfect for couples.

Queen Balcony Rooms are located on the top two levels of the hotel which means they have a spectacular vantage point over Thredbo Village and panoramic views of the mountain. There are some stairs to climb to get up to these rooms and unfortunately due to the historic age of the building there is no lift. However, in our opinion, it is worth it to surround yourself in the beautiful alpine scenery.

King Balcony Rooms are slightly more spacious, with a large comfortable king bed. These rooms are located just across a courtyard from the main building of the hotel. The perfect stumbling distance from the Terrace Restaurant or Apres Bar or a night out on the town in Thredbo.

Twin Room:  Sleeps a maximum of 2 in comfortable single beds. An excellent option when travelling with a friend. A nice space to retire to after a big day on the mountain and a long night in the bar. Some Twin Rooms have mountain views. They are compact and comfortable with all amenities.

King Room:  This is the most popular room at The Denman and is great for couples. The King Rooms are also still in keeping with the older chalet style and are quite compact however offer more room than a double with the addition of a King size bed. Everything is at your fingertips, including the mountain, as several of these rooms have excellent direct mountain views.

Triple Room:  Ideal for a family.  The bedding configuration is made up of 1 King Bed and 1 Single Bed in one room. The room can also be made up comfortably for 3 adults travelling together, with the bedding configuration being 3 Singles or 1 King Bed and 1 Single Bed. Some of the Triple Rooms have direct or side mountain views.

Family Room:  With a double bed for Mum and Dad in one room plus 3 single beds in an adjoining room and a compact en-suite, this room is ideal for a family who don’t mind sharing. Family Rooms can accommodate 5 adults, however they are quite compact and work best when used just for sleeping.

Compact Double Room:  With a double bed it sleeps 2 and is suitable for a couple. In keeping with the older chalet style of the hotel, the room and en-suite are compact, but have all the amenities you would expect. Some doubles also have very nice views of the mountain.

Single Room:  A small cosy room with side views to the mountain. With a single bed and compact en-suite, it is great for the solo traveller. It’s also an affordable option for someone travelling with others who would like their own space, peace and quiet instead of sharing a room. Situated on the first floor, tucked in at the end of the hallway it is just the thing for resting up after a day on the mountain.

Dining

The Terrace Restaurant:  Against the stunning backdrop of the snowy mountains the Terrace Restaurant offers a unique and casual dinning experience. The food is simple and wholesome, just what is needed after a day on the ski slopes. Sit back and relax, enjoy the atmosphere of being in the mountains as you choose from an array of dishes with classic flavours accompanied by fine wines and cocktails.

The Après Bar:  has become a Thredbo favourite and everyone seems to have a story from this hole in the wall night spot!  Whether its from last season or 20 odd years ago, memories are made here. The Après Bar takes its name from the European tradition of stopping off at the bar after the last run of the day. Only a flight of stairs away from the village square, in the heart of Thredbo, the Après Bar continues to keep this tradition alive.

With the live music calling you from within, stop by for an ice cold beer, quirky cocktail or a tipple from the vast array of eclectic spirits. Shout your friends a round of Schnapps to get into the spirit! Having too much fun to leave in time for dinner? Grab a bite from the tempting Bar Menu. Ski Boots welcome!

The Library Bar:  Sit at the bar and chat to the friendly bar staff whilst they whip up your favourite cocktail classic or relax on one of the lounges with a glass of wine. A great place to meet friends for a pre-dinner drink, this inviting space is a great place to unwind a chat about the highlights of your day over a well made cocktail and some nibbles. After dinner retire back to the comfort of the lounges to enjoy your decadent dessert accompanied by an after dinner drink.
