Described as a 5-day outback expedition to 70,000 acres of remote, breath-taking land, flooded with diverse animal and plant life…

Just 12 guests join the 4WD chauffeured convoy to this remote Outback Oasis and operational cattle property. Here your hosts offer a rare and unique opportunity to traverse the rugged Outback and get back to the simplicity of nature and connection to country.

No ask is too big for Kinrara Expeditions. During your pre trip departure meeting, Sunscene will find out as much detail as possible to ensure your experience is what you have been dreaming of.

Kids and adults alike will love meeting the farm animals; hearing stories from the station stockmen; learning to make scones and jams and chutney from local produce; and spending the afternoon kayaking, supping, or swimming in crystal clear spring-fed streams; before relaxing in the evening around the campfire and hearing more about Outback Cattle Station Life or the Kinrara Volcano which erupted in the last 20,000 years making it Australia’s youngest volcano.

Return Transfers by 4WD convoy from Cairns.
Up to 12 guests will make the 4-hour drive, first up through the World Heritage Listed Rainforest to the west of Cairns, traversing the Atherton Tablelands. The convoy will stop at significant landmarks and nature reserves along the way.
Delicious Welcome Lunch enroute at the iconic Ravenshoe Pub – Queensland’s highest pub.
A further hour south via the once thriving tin and agricultural service town of Mount Garnet, the countryside changes dramatically. No longer the lush green rolling forests or vast lakes, a much more sparse and dry Savanah unfolds. The bitumen gives way to dirt road and the real adventure begins.
4 Nights Accommodation in your very own private, safari-style canvas glamping tent located on the edge of the pristine spring-fed lake.

Each tent is set up with pillowtop mattress, ample soft fluffy pillows, fluffy towels, washcloths and swimming towels. Simple details such as solar lighting, USB chargers, side tables, hat stand, luggage rack, 2 chairs, filtered water, tea and coffee facilities, and a selection of books are included. Fully bug proof, each suite has a deck with fabulous views and deck chairs to take in the sunsets.

All Meals – Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks including hand-picked fresh local produce, lovingly prepared and made on-site. All Drinks – Alcoholic and non alcoholic. From classic soft drinks to locally produced kombucha, tea coffee, Australian wines, a range of refreshing local and boutique beers and spirits perfect for when you need a refreshing Lime and Frangellico or a classic Gin and Tonic.
All guided adventures across Kinrara Station; kayaking, hiking, 4WDing, nature walks, swimming in crystal clear spring-fed streams, exploring outback life, homestead tour, and much more.
Lots of time to relax – enjoy the camps small library, lay in a hammock or sit on the lakes edge and observe the rich biodiversity and over 160 different bird species that inhabit the area. Bird watching with binoculars supplied.

Cairns Rusty’s Markets Experience – Much of the fresh produce for the week comes from Rusty’s markets in Cairns and is incorporated into the bespoke seasonal menu. Locals flock to buy regionally sourced high-quality fruits and vegetables from these markets. Your Kinrara host and head cook will take you for a personal tour of the local market stalls where you will meet suppliers who consistently deliver delicious locally grown produce. Being able to source world class ingredients makes for amazing fresh meals during the week. The food and market experience takes place on Sundays prior to departure. Bookings essential. Welcome coffee included.
