You are welcome to set your own itinerary but here is an example of what you can expect.
Day One: Commence your journey from Port Douglas and head to Opal Reef for snorkelling. This is undoubtably the highlight of any outer reef trip and an ideal way to kick start your sailing adventure.
Day Two: Head to St Crispin’s Reef. This little-known area of the Great Barrier Reef is an elongated outer-shelf reef in the Coral Sea, 35 miles off the coast. The water flow here is such that it encourages prolific coral growth.
Day Three: On to Cooktown, one of Australia’s most fascinating and historic frontier towns. Your trip would not be complete without this stop.
Days Four & Five: The Northern Ribbon Reefs are long, thin strips of reef, which form the outer edges of the Great Barrier Reef. They are visited by fewer operators which means they remain in pristine condition and boast lush coral gardens full of fish.
Days Six & Seven: Lizard Island is Australia’s northernmost island resort. Secluded from the rest of the world it is an absolute tropical paradise.
Day Eight: Sail home but think about extending your stay in the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.
