Aspen X Games
We couldnt make the Winter Olympics as planned so we planned a ski trip to see the Games. At the core of the Aspen X Games are the intense competitions featuring some of the world’s best athletes showcasing their skills in a variety of extreme sports disciplines. From snowboarding and skiing to snowmobiling and freestyle motocross, spectators are treated to jaw-dropping performances and gravity-defying tricks as athletes push the limits of what’s possible on snow and ice. Absolute amazing experience.
Family Snow Holiday
Although a long way to travel with a baby and 3 year old, the ease of flying directly into Aspen airport took some of the pain out of long haul travel. Once we arrived to the sheer beauty of the Rockies and breathed in the mountain air all was forgotten about the long journey.
We took advanatge of the wordclass child minding facilities which included snow play in the toddler room and could enjoy our days on the mountain whilst the children were looked after.
We also enjoyed many experiences that are on offer for families – ice skating, dog sledding, snow mobiling and a stand out was the horse sleigh ride out to Pine Creek cook house for a gorgeous tranquil lunch in the woods.
For my travellers, I always recommend arriving in January to Snowmass and Aspen to take advantage of kids ski free (12 and under) with a rental package, SKI 10 for the price of 7 and SKI 30 for the price of 10 passes. The ski packages are some of the most competitive in the world and for those surpised with the price (and crowds) of Japan I would always recommend to look at a Colorado comparison before locking down your ski plans.
