Australia might be known for its warm cities, sunny beaches and scorching outback, but new research from Club Med shows that Aussies themselves prefer to hit the slopes during their holidays. The survey found that 50 per cent of respondents aged 18-34 prefer a snow holiday over a warm one.
Not only are Australians looking to get away from the heat, they're looking for overseas ski destinations. Five out of six respondents in the Club Med survey said they're "tired" of skiing in Australia – but where do they want to go instead? Though there are places within Australia to ski, most residents seem to be interested in travelling internationally for their snow holidays. According to Club Med's research, 80 per cent of the respondents who said they'd like to go to a ski resort in the near future also want that trip to be somewhere outside of Australia.

And the destinations Aussies are most likely to go? Japan, America, Canada and Europe. All three of these regions offer incredible ski conditions, but Australians want more than just good powder on the slopes.
