Set to open in December 2021, Club Med Charlevoix is in the stunning and culturally rich French speaking region of Quebec, Canada. This resort will be the first Club Med in Canada and the brand’s first four-seasons mountain resort meaning the property will be open year round offering a mountain experience that shifts as the seasons change with an expansive variety of seasonal outdoor activities and cultural highlights.
Le Massif de Charlevoix ski area
Le Massif de Charlevoix ski resort is in the village of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, Charlevoix, an hour’s drive from Quebec City. Its vertical drop is 770m, the highest in Eastern Canada and east of the Rockies. The Charlevoix ski season lasts from December to April and has an above average annual snowfall compared to other ski areas in Eastern Canada.
UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve
The Charlevoix region sits on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River as well as in the Laurentian Mountains area of the Canadian Shield. This dramatic landscape includes rolling terrain, fjords, headlands, and bays and Charlevoix rests inside a 50km wide crater formed by a massive meteorite that hit North America 350 million years ago. UNESCO classified, the entire area is now a World Biosphere Reserve and many lovely towns such as Baie St Paul have kept their quaint historical feel with art galleries and boutiques lining the narrow streets… perfect for a day trip from your on-mountain Club Med Resort.
IN THE HEART OF VIBRANT QUEBEC PROVINCE
Club Med Charlevoix will be situated on a moderate sloped terrain, allowing for the ultimate Ski in Ski out experience. Inspired by locally sourced materials to fully reflect the beauty of its surroundings, it will boast a clear wide view of the St Lawrence River, right above the existing forest cover.
This brand-new Club Med 4 Trident Resort including a 5 Trident Luxury Space will offer stunning, scenic views of St Lawrence River, unparalleled skiing, natural marvels, and a diverse cultural experience.
If you’re not cosying up in the resort, you can enjoy the greatest vertical drop east of the Canadian Rockies and the unique chance for waterfront skiing. Better yet, ski passes, and lessons are included in your stay. If you need a break from the slopes, why not choose to sledge on the biggest sledge run in North America – a thrilling 7.5 km long sled run. There will be also a variety of iconic Québec activities such as ice-skating, dog sledding and sugar shack visits – which are all definitively must-try experiences.
Think mountain holidays are all about skiing? Don’t worry, there are also plenty of Quebec inspired après-ski experiential moments, from Nordic Spa, to food and beverages that magnify the local gastronomy, and so much more. Why not take a relaxing moment for yourself at the heated swimming pool?
In addition to endless activities, access to best-in-class ski instructors and services, the resort will have plenty of entertainment for the whole family. For the parents, enjoy luxurious spa services while the kids are taken care of at the all-day childcare (available from 4 months to 17 years, including ski lessons starting from 4 years old).
