The ski resort of Le Massif de Charlevoix is only 1hr drive north east of the lively French Canadian City of Quebec. Imagine cobblestone streets, old town buildings with magnificent heritage, a European village vibe, language, culture and a top foodie destination… simply there is no place in Northern America like Quebec City.
From exploring the treasured UNESCO World Heritage site of Old Quebec and discovering the storied past and European charm to experiencing larger than life settings of lakes, rivers, mountains and endless forests of the Charlevoix region, a Snowscene package staying at Club Med Charlevoix Ski Resort & Quebec City means you’re not travelling to Canada for just the skiing alone.
We have a myriad of pre or post touring to recommend you, from Quebec city stays in a Chateau or Ice Hotel, to day tours of Montmorency Falls (30m higher than Niagara Falls), along with a unique rail experience on the Train de Charlevoix running between Quebec and the quaint villages of La Malbai & Baie-Saint-Paul. Magnificent Baie-Saint-Paul is known for having the most art galleries per capita across Canada, along with being the hometown of Cirque du Soleil, whilst La Malbaie is home to many of Charlevoix’s reputed restaurants.
The Ski Resort of Le Massif de Charlevoix
From great heights to epic sights, the Charlevoix ski area provides something for everyone — including the highest vertical drop east of the Rockies. The Alpine skiing here will exceed all expectations, as will the spectacular views over St Lawrence River which feels more like skiing lakefront due to its shear expanse.
La Racine – This trail, accessible via the base of the Camp-Boule sector, is simply stunning. Incredibly wide, La Racine allows winter sports enthusiasts to perform giant slalom style turns with the added bonus of breathtaking views of the St Lawrence River. From this trail you have views directly over your brand new accommodation at Club Med Québec Charlevoix.
L’Anguille – From the top of l’Anguille and its significant vertical drop, enjoy the unique feeling that this vertiginous descent will end in the icy waters of the St Lawrence River. For an extra treat, wake up early as being the first person to carve up this soft white carpet is a pure delight.
La Fénomène –The great incline of this slope offers spectacular views of the St Lawrence River as well as Isle-aux-Coudres looming on the horizon. If you’re an early bird, the sunrises here are simply breathtaking and not to be missed.
Le Massif de Charlevoix ski resort has much more to offer than just skiing. Take a luge ride down a 7.5 km trail; go snowshoeing or cross-country skiing; or take in the expansive views with a scenic gondola ride. This area is a veritable smorgasbord of experiences. Ask your Snowscene travel specialist to design an itinerary to encompass all the highlights of this incredible Canadian destination.
