Nozawa View Hotel Shimataya

The Nozawa View Hotel Shimataya is aptly named as many of its rooms have stunning views of Mount Kenashi above the village, and the Chikuma Valley below. This spacious, airy property offers very comfortable Western and Japanese accommodation located an easy 10 minute walk to either the Shinyu Pair Lift or the Yu Road (moving walkway) up to the Hikage Ski Area.  It’s a stone’s throw from several of Nozawa Onsen’s many great restaurants, 50 metres from the nearest “soto-yu” or traditional public bath, and less than a minute’s walk to the local bus service.

Nozawa View Hotel has its own private onsen baths which are arguably the most spectacular in the village with dramatic picture windows showing off the best of Nagano’s mountain scenery. The piping hot natural spring water will warm you to the core, and the mineral content will leave your skin glowing and refreshed.
