Furano
Champagne powder and bluebird days
With magical powder snow, known as being some of the lightest and driest in Japan, the ski season starts in late November and runs through to early May. The ski experience is second to none with a yearly average snowfall of 9m, and the weather conditions are generally stable with frequent bluebird days.
Furano on the north island of Hokkaido provides long runs, beautifully groomed and Ski in ski out accommodation options. The mountain has several lifts and gondolas as well as a 100 person Cable Car – the fastest of its kind in Japan. The ropeway takes guests top to bottom, a 2.3 kilometre trip, and travels 10m per second, ensuring you get the most time on the snow. Furano lift tickets can also give you access to Asahidake, Tomamu and Kamui ski links, which offer unique, deep powder backcountry experiences.
There is a local town 5 minutes away so you can have a local Japanese experience with meals and easy access to grocery stores – there is even a bowling alley!
So ski Japan with our packages at Snowscene — tailored to you to ensure your trip is one you’ll never forget.
