Telluride

Telluride is one destination, two unique villages, one historical mining town and far more than just a USA ski resort. Even the ski runs have stories to tell.

Telluride is located high in the San Juan mountains of Colorado with unspoiled beauty, varied terrain, and uncrowded slopes with some of the most incredible ski & snowboard terrain North America has to offer. The quirky and unpretentious town of Telluride is a 19th century mining town and you can choose to stay in the Telluride township itself or the elegant modern Mountain Village which is perched above the town and connected by the Telluride Gondola. Both villages have their own unique character, distinct culture, dining, and activities. Stay in one and explore the other by night, as by day you will be sure to be exploring the ideal terrain, from wide open runs to gentle slopes or the steep and deep.

Telluride has been ranked the #1 ski resort in North America for 6 of the last 7 years with the ski resort giving credit to this ranking due to its varied and stunning terrain, friendly professional ‘local’ service, welcoming and wonderful accommodation and the delicious and inventive restaurants, bar scenes and funky independent shops of both Telluride Township and Mountain Village.  What wins the true award in our eyes are the stunning views that surround the ski resort with the backdrop of the San Juan Mountains. The mountains tell the story just as much as the town, the unique villages, and the extensive terrain.

You can fly into Telluride airport and touch down at your condo within a 15 minute drive. There are multiple flights per week throughout winter between Denver International Airport and Telluride Regional Airport, offering worldwide connections.  If flying into Telluride doesn’t suit there are transfer connections available from both Denver and Montrose Airports. What our travellers love most is that Telluride has several ski in ski out condos and properties in the heart of Mountain Village. Mountain Village is perched above Telluride at 9,545 feet and is a luxe European style alpine setting. Commuting into town is a truly unique scenic experience by the Telluride Gondola otherwise known as “The G”.  However, to access the slopes you are right there.

After you have tested your skiing and snowboarding on the slopes, or perhaps by Heli or backcountry tours, for a slower pace you can enjoy the serene beauty of Telluride Ski Resort on Snowshoe and Nordic trails.  In Telluride you can also enjoy the quintessential winter activities such as ice climbing, ice skating, ice fishing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, kite skiing or even a San Juan backcountry true outdoor adventure hike.

If you are wondering where to celebrate the festive season, both Telluride and Mountain Village will provide you with joyous, family-friendly events during December for a truly magical White Christmas and an amazing way to bring in the New Year!
